About us

Estate planners first. Trainers second.

We practise what we teach. Every week we're sat at kitchen tables doing the work — wills, LPAs, trust conversations, executor packs. The training comes from that, not a textbook. And the programme is the one we wish had existed when we first tried to enter this industry.

How we got here

The Project Will story

Project Will started as an estate planning practice. We spent years building it — learning the work, making mistakes, figuring out which conversations land and which don't. Real clients, real cases, real money on the line.

Along the way, people kept asking the same question: how do I get into this? Some were financial advisors looking to add services. Some were career-changers in their forties or fifties wanting something meaningful. All of them hit the same wall — courses charging £600–£3,000 upfront, teaching the law in a 4-day intensive, then sending you home with a certificate and no clue how to find clients.

We thought we could do better. Not because we're cleverer, but because we're still doing the work. The training comes from this morning's appointments, not a textbook written ten years ago.

So we built it in two halves. The legal training is free — the same content other UK providers charge £600–£1,000 for. We give it away because cost shouldn't be the thing standing between someone and a useful career. Then the coached programme picks up where every other course gives up: sales, business setup, real client meetings, lead generation. £700 upfront or £199/month for four months. Paid stage by stage so nobody ever loses thousands on a bet that didn't work out.

It's the programme we wish had existed when we started. Now we run it.

Who's teaching you

Real planners, not academics

Alex runs the day-to-day and still takes client instructions himself — that's deliberate.

Alex
FOUNDER · WILLO & PROJECT WILL

I paid £1,500 for a 4-day course, joined every membership body going, and was left with a certificate and no clue how to find clients. So I built WILLO — the software you'll draft in — and the training programme I wish had existed.

I run Project Will day to day, build the software, and personally coach students through the programme.

Why we built this

Three gaps the industry left open

Every problem this programme solves came from us hitting the same wall ourselves. None of these gaps had to exist.

The training gap

Existing courses were either too theoretical (taught by people who'd never met a real client) or too superficial (a 4-day firehose, then home with a certificate). We wanted something thorough enough to be genuinely useful — and free, so cost wasn't the barrier.

The support gap

Every other provider hands you a certificate and waves goodbye. We split our offer in two precisely so we can stay in support: legal training is free for life, and the coached programme is direct 1-to-1 work for as long as you need us.

The confidence gap

Knowing wills inside out doesn't matter if you freeze in front of a client. The hardest part of this work isn't the law — it's the conversation. That's why role plays, video demos, and live coaching sit at the heart of the coached programme.

How we work

What we actually believe

Four things we put on a page so you can hold us to them.

Honesty

We tell you the truth, even when it costs us. We won't progress someone into the coached programme if we don't think they can do it. Better honest now than a £700 mistake later.

Quality over quantity

We'd rather train fewer people well than thousands poorly. The free course filters for people who genuinely want this; the coached programme delivers what they actually need.

We don't disappear

Most courses end when the certificate prints. Ours doesn't. We're on 1-to-1 calls with students through their first complex cases, second pricing wobble, and fifth real client.

Skin in the game

We still take real client instructions ourselves. Every drafting template inside WILLO and every lesson on this site comes from a kitchen table we've sat at this year — not a textbook.

The wider picture

The Project Will ecosystem

Three sites, one mission: lower the barrier between curious people and a real estate planning career, and connect the public with planners who actually know what they're doing.
